Jerusalem Man Arrested Over Car Bomb Explosion in Or Yehuda
Police arrested a 20-year-old Jerusalem resident suspected of planting an explosive device in a vehicle in Or Yehuda last month, following a month-long investigation.

One month after an explosive device detonated inside a vehicle in Or Yehuda, investigators from the Dan Region Crime Fighting Unit arrested a 20-year-old Jerusalem resident on Monday on suspicion of involvement in planting the bomb.
The incident took place on September 18, when police received a report of a powerful explosion emanating from a car in Or Yehuda. Mesubim police officers rushed to the scene, located the damaged vehicle, and launched an investigation by gathering forensic evidence. No injuries were reported in the blast.
The investigation was subsequently handed over to the Dan Region Crime Fighting Unit, whose detectives spent recent weeks tracking down those responsible. Following a breakthrough in the case, the suspect was located and arrested on Monday. He was taken in for questioning on suspicion of planting an explosive device and was subsequently detained.
The suspect is scheduled to be brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court, where police will request an extension of his remand to continue the investigation. At this stage, no details have been released regarding the background of the explosion, the identity of the car owner, or the possible motive.
