Lieberman's slip of the tongue exposes the 'Only Not Bibi' camp's trick

Say a big thank you to Avigdor Lieberman. From time to time, he treats us to a bit of political candor. This time, when asked about Yair Golan, he simply could not control himself:

'I would be happy to praise him, just let him be quiet. That is his greatest contribution to our victory.'

What a golden tip, huh? 'Just let him be quiet.' Stop talking, Yair. Close the microphone. And above all — do not ruin the show for us.

But make no mistake. Lieberman is not angry at Yair Golan's positions. He is so not angry that a minute after the elections, he will run to form a coalition with him. Because they dream of being ministers in an Eisenkot government.

Lieberman is simply annoyed that Golan is ruining his maneuver. For months, the 'change-incitement-experiment' camp has been trying to sell you a magical fantasy story. They tell you that 'there are many more agreements than disagreements,' just like in the previous round.

This is, in my view, an absolute lie. They blur the facts, smooth over the corners, and pull the wool over your eyes. They hide the evacuation plans, downplay the Palestinian state issue, and pray that the public does not notice.

And then comes Yair Golan, without filters, and reads out loud the real menu of their coalition. He is not wrong — he tells the whole truth as he sees it. And in doing so, he ruins their current campaign of sedation.

Lieberman knows that Golan sees himself as a legitimate candidate for the position of Minister of Defense. He knows very well that there are elements in the camp that support a Palestinian state. And he understands that without Mansour Abbas and Ra'am, politically speaking, they have no government and no coalition. So he begs him: stop talking. Do not reveal the truth to the public. Let us deceive the public just until election day. Let us sedate the voters, quietly.

Because behind all the talk of 'agreements,' there is no vision and no common path. What unites them, in my view, is one common denominator and one code name: 'Only not Bibi.' When you remove all the disguises, you discover that there is nothing there except a political deal based on deception. Lieberman is not bothered by Golan being an extremist. He is bothered by the fact that he is simply telling you the truth.
