What exactly is disrupting the screen?

Complaints that have begun to accumulate on Samsung's forums indicated that it is no longer possible to activate the side panel using swipe gestures. An official company representative has now confirmed that the source of the malfunction is a bug in the popular One Hand Operation Plus plugin, which belongs to Samsung's Good Lock suite. This plugin allows users to set custom swipe gestures for actions such as turning on the flashlight or opening quick settings.

According to Samsung, the bug causes the plugin to incorrectly identify the touch area of the side panel on the home screen, making its activation almost impossible. The company has promised to release an official fix in the next update of the plugin, but did not provide an exact schedule for its distribution. In the meantime, users are forced to deal with the problem on their own.

Temporary solutions

Until the official update arrives, Samsung suggests several ways to bypass the malfunction:

• Rotate the device to landscape or portrait mode within an app that supports screen rotation, and then return to the home screen.

• Enter the plugin's settings and change the size of its gesture area so that it does not physically conflict with the touch area of the side panel.

If these methods do not work, you can always completely disable the One Hand Operation Plus plugin until the bug is fixed. For those accustomed to using both features together, this may not be an ideal solution, but it is the safest way to immediately restore the side panel to proper operation.
