The Next Star finalist Mika Moshe: "I don't want people to see me cursing like that"

This summer, Hapoel Be'er Sheva signed Maccabi Petah Tikva star Niv Yehoshua. The 21-year-old midfielder's partner is none other than singer Mika Moshe, who is slowly adjusting to life in the Negev capital and becoming increasingly involved in the world of football.

In a special interview on Galatz for the program "Good You Came," Mika discussed her emotional reactions in the stands and the inspiration behind her song "Lucky You're Here," written for her partner:

"I went into the studio and we were thinking about what I could write. You arrive at a session and you don't know what will come out. They told me, 'We want you to write about yourself,' and I said, 'About me is Niv Yehoshua.' That’s how the song was born."

When asked by host Adam Gabay if she sings about the need for a strong midfield for fast counterattacks, Moshe joked: "Exactly, and about an excellent dribble, too."

Mika admitted that football reveals sides of her personality she wasn't previously aware of:

"The truth is, it brings out sides of me I really didn't know I had. During the Champions League qualifiers, I watch on TV and I scream, and my mom tells me, 'Calm down, you have a performance tomorrow,' as if I should think about myself for a second and save my voice."

She also shared that her behavior in the stands sometimes catches her off guard:

"I do curse sometimes. Even while in the stands, I say to myself, 'Wow, I hope people don't see that I'm cursing like this,' as if it doesn't suit me."

Hapoel Be'er Sheva's official social media account responded to the interview with a heartwarming comment: "You are melting us."

19-year-old Moshe began her career in 2020 on "Music School" and later finished third in the 2023 season of "The Next Star." Now, after nearly two years with Yehoshua, she is becoming a familiar face at the Toto Turner Stadium, cheering on her partner.
