Kan 11 to Air Special Kupa Rashit Election Episode Ahead of Exit Polls
Kan 11 is shaking up election night 2026 with a special political satire episode of the cult comedy "Kupa Rashit," airing right before the channel's crucial exit poll.

Israeli election nights are traditionally defined by intense political panels and a dramatic ratings battle among news networks ahead of the 22:00 hour. However, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation has decided to shake up the democratic showdown schedule by offering viewers a much-needed comedic break just moments before the dramatic exit poll figures hit the screen.
Kan 11 and the digital platform Kan BOX announced the broadcast of a special, festive election episode of the beloved cult comedy "Kupa Rashit" (Checkout), airing on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 21:30—precisely timed to lead directly into the exit poll results presented by Kan News pollster Dudi Hassid. The special episode plunges the familiar characters from the Yavne branch of the "Shefa Issachar" supermarket straight into the chaotic and frantic political melting pot of election day.
Political Satire at the Supermarket
According to the plot, the persistent and nagging regular customer Amnon Titinsky (Dov Navon) finds himself at the center of attention, inadvertently becoming a political figure of decisive influence and importance. Meanwhile, Shuni Sterling (Dorit Lev-Ari) launches a vigorous and aggressive political campaign aimed at securing a spot on a party list for the Knesset. At the same time, cashier Kochva Shaked (Keren Mor) spots a classic business opportunity, attempting to leverage social polarization and deep societal divisions for her own personal interests.
Created by Yaniv Zohar and Nadav Frishman, "Kupa Rashit" has evolved into one of Kan 11's greatest television and cultural triumphs. Offering a satirical, exaggerated, and razor-sharp reflection of Israeli society through the lens of a supermarket deli and checkout counters, the series has garnered tens of millions of digital views, a fanatical fanbase, and an international Emmy nomination.
The Battle for Election Night Viewers
Kan 11 is not alone in preparing entertainment alternatives ahead of the crucial exit polls. Reshet 13 is also gearing up for election night by launching a revamped version of the hit format "Taxi Cash" ("Cash Cab"), hosted by comedian and actor Asi Israelof. The festive premiere will feature prominent VIP passengers, including couple Maya Wertheimer and Assaf Zamir, alongside Eli Yatzpan and his daughter Noa, as they test their trivia knowledge during a comedic and fast-paced ride.
With "Kupa Rashit," Kan 11 is betting that the humor of Kochva, Ramzi, and Amnon will serve as the ultimate launchpad for its election night coverage, setting the stage for Dudi Hassid's highly anticipated exit poll.
