Renowned German DJ and producer Boris Brejcha has announced that he will bring his iconic musical career to a close by the end of 2028, retiring both his own moniker and his alter ego, Joker. In a video statement shared on social media, the artist explained that the decision follows a long period of reflection and marks a carefully chosen finale.

"My father always used to say that you should stop when things are at their peak," Brejcha told his followers in the video. "And that is why I want to announce that in 2028 I will write my final chapter. We will try to play as many shows as possible in 2028 as one big thank you to all of you."

In a written statement accompanying the announcement, the electronic music star reassured fans that his departure is entirely voluntary, noting that he is not suffering from any illness and has not lost his passion for creating music. Comparing his career to a well-written book with a happy ending, he invited supporters to celebrate the final stretch together.

Famous for his signature Venetian-style carnival mask and his pioneering minimal techno sound, known as "high-tech minimal," Brejcha has grown into one of the most prominent figures in global electronic music. Earlier this year, he performed on the main stage at Tomorrowland, headlined London's Alexandra Palace, and played his first-ever back-to-back set with Eric Prydz. Details regarding his 2028 farewell tour have not yet been released.
