Israeli Media Personality Slams Celebrity Baby Names Amid New Trend
Media figure Amira Buzaglo criticized celebrity Maayan Adam for naming her newborn son Ito, sparking a debate on unusual baby names chosen for social media attention.

Media personality Amira Buzaglo has sparked a public debate after criticizing celebrity Maayan Adam for naming her newborn son "Ito." Speaking on television, Buzaglo argued that the trend among public figures of choosing unusual or attention-grabbing names for their children often reflects a desire for social media engagement rather than the child's best interests.
"Make your promo codes, do whatever you want—your child is not a promo code or a PR stunt!" Buzaglo stated. She pointed out that while celebrities frequently select unique monikers like Miel, San, Moon, or Litchi, the choice of Ito crossed a line into prioritizing online trends over the child's future daily life in kindergarten and school.
The Meaning Behind the Name Ito
Maayan Adam, who welcomed her son last week, defended the choice by explaining its deep personal and biblical significance. Derived from the Book of Ecclesiastes—“He has made everything beautiful in its time”—the name reflects the family's belief that everything happens at the exact right moment.
The choice also carries emotional weight given Adam's personal medical history. Following a past cancer diagnosis, she was told she could not conceive naturally, leading the couple to initially pursue surrogacy before the unexpected and miraculous pregnancy occurred. Adam described the birth as a "manifesto of timing," noting that rain began to fall the exact moment her son entered the world.
