Meirav Ben Ari Reacts to High Placement on Yesh Atid Electoral List

Knesset Member Meirav Ben Ari has reacted for the first time to her high placement on the candidate list for the upcoming elections to the 26th Knesset. Ben Ari secured the second spot on the "Yesh Atid" list and the fourth spot on the unified "Bihad" list.

Ben Ari, who previously served as the chairwoman of the Knesset Internal Security Committee, expressed her gratitude for the wave of support:

"From the moment the announcement about our new team for the 26th Knesset was released, my phone has been flooded with moving, supportive, and loving messages. I will read them all, but in the meantime, I am stopping to say thank you very much to everyone for this immense support."

She also extended her gratitude to the party chairman:

"A huge thank you to Yair Lapid for his trust and for simply being a true friend and a leader."

Challenges Outside of Politics

Ben Ari's political path has been complex. In a previous interview with journalist Shaul Amsterdamski, she shared details about the period when she left politics and returned to civilian life, sarcastically calling it her "golden age."

She explained the difficulties she faced as a single mother trying to secure housing finance:

"I went into the private sector, and it was a difficult year. Think about it, I am a single mother, and I took out a mortgage. They didn't even want to approve my mortgage because I am a single mother."

She further elaborated on the harsh reality of leaving office:

"Politicians are kicked out of here, okay? There is nothing left. I think going back to civilian life for two years gave me a serious wake-up call. I signed up at the unemployment office, Shaul. For half a year, I had no money and no job. But thank God, in the second year, I made good money."

Looking ahead to the upcoming campaign for the 26th Knesset, Ben Ari concluded with a hint of what is to come, stating she has much more to say in the near future.
