A cornerstone was laid last Thursday for the KKL-JNF House of Excellence in Kiryat Shmona, concluding the organization's international presidents conference held in the Galilee. The new facility will provide youth in the city and surrounding areas with an advanced educational framework to develop skills in science, technology, sports, and art.

The unique aspect of the Kiryat Shmona center is its location within a natural landscape alongside a flowing stream, combining educational excellence with a connection to nature. The establishment of the house is part of KKL-JNF's broader investment in the north, totaling over one billion shekels in recent recovery efforts and an additional 859 million shekels approved for 2026 strategic development.

The cornerstone-laying ceremony concluded five days of the KKL-JNF International Presidents Conference, which brought approximately 100 presidents and branch heads from 33 countries to the Galilee. The event opened in the presence of Israeli President Isaac Herzog and focused on post-war northern development and community resilience.

KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Ostrinsky stated: "Our commitment to Kiryat Shmona and the north goes beyond restoring the status quo. We are working alongside local authorities and residents to revitalize the area, strengthen communities, and build infrastructure for long-term growth."

Kiryat Shmona Mayor Avichai Stern added: "Today we stand here talking about the future, about our sons and daughters, and the opportunities they deserve like any other child in Israel. We are choosing to build not just homes and roads, but the next generation's self-confidence and ability to dream big."
