Gunman Snatches Guard Weapon at Givat Shmuel School in Suspected Heist
An armed robbery occurred at a Givat Shmuel school Sunday morning when a masked suspect assaulted a guard, stole his weapon, and fled, with police ruling out nationalist motives.
A serious incident occurred Sunday morning at the Kanfei Ruach school in Givat Shmuel, when a young man on an electric scooter assaulted a school security guard and managed to snatch his firearm before fleeing the scene.
Large police forces were dispatched to the area and launched extensive searches to locate the suspect, who escaped with the stolen weapon. Investigators are currently reviewing security camera footage to identify the attacker and trace his escape route.
According to the guard's preliminary testimony, the incident appears to be criminal rather than nationalist in nature. Municipal officials in Givat Shmuel noted that the attacker did not utter any nationalist slogans during the brief struggle and focused entirely on seizing the weapon.
The guard added that the suspect did not attempt to use the weapon against students or passersby, fleeing immediately after obtaining it. Police are continuing to examine all investigative angles while the search for the suspect and the stolen firearm remains ongoing.
