The clip, captioned "Iran has been warned" alongside a fireworks emoji, featured footage from a cockpit, fighter jets taking off, and explosions from airstrikes. All of this was precisely synchronized to the words "boom, boom, boom" from Katy Perry's mega-hit "Firework," according to a report by "Variety" magazine.
The post accumulated roughly 6.3 million views, but Perry's response was swift and particularly harsh: "I did not approve this, I was not asked, and in no way do I justify this," the singer stated, condemning the use of her song as a soundtrack for military action. Perry emphasized that the hit was written as an anthem of empowerment and resilience, not to glorify violence:
"When a message of hope is weaponized to serve as a soundtrack for destruction, it is a complete violation of everything my song represents. I am deeply shocked, angry, stunned, and horrified. My music is meant to unite people, not to celebrate war."
