Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi sent a legal warning letter on Wednesday through attorney Avihai Hajbi to the Yashar! party led by Gadi Eisenkot, demanding the removal of what he calls a false campaign claim alleging that Karhi "fled in an armored vehicle on October 7."

In the letter, Karhi states that on the morning of the October 7 massacre, he was at his home in Zimrat in the Gaza envelope with his wife and eight children. He asked the local security coordinator to join the fighting rather than fleeing or being evacuated from the community.

According to the minister, upon being summoned to fulfill his duty as a government member, he announced without hesitation that he would attend the cabinet meeting despite the terror and mortal danger along the way. After security officials instructed him not to leave until an armored vehicle arrived, he followed instructions and departed at 16:00 for the government meeting where the war was declared. Following the meeting, he returned to his home in the envelope and managed the Communications Ministry situation room from there. Four days later, he was evacuated from the community under security directives.

Karhi's legal notice demands that the Eisenkot party remove the publication and issue a retraction and apology within 48 hours before legal proceedings are initiated.
