Two Men Killed in Violent Incidents Across Arab Sector Communities
Two men were killed in separate violent incidents in Kafr Qara and Arraba, bringing the Arab sector death toll to 187 this year as police investigate.

A wave of violent crime claimed two lives in Arab communities across Israel within hours, as police launched investigations into both incidents.
In the first case, a 42-year-old man was killed in Kafr Qara after being struck by a vehicle. Police are currently investigating whether the incident was a deliberate homicide following a local altercation. MDA emergency responders arrived at the scene at 19:40 after receiving a report at the Sharon region dispatch center. Paramedics provided initial trauma care and evacuated the victim to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in critical condition with multi-system injuries, where doctors pronounced him dead.
MDA paramedic Husam Tawfiq and senior medic Mohammad Fokra described the scene: "We were led to the injured man lying on the road after apparently being hit by a car. We provided medical treatment including halting hemorrhages and administering medications, evacuating him in an intensive care ambulance while he was in serious yet stable condition and fully conscious."
Earlier in the day in Arraba in the Upper Galilee, 47-year-old Maarouf Yahya Kanaana was shot and killed. Police forces arrived at the location, initiated sweeps for suspects, and opened a criminal probe into the circumstances of the shooting. The victim was critically wounded and evacuated to Poria Hospital while undergoing resuscitation efforts, where medical staff were ultimately forced to confirm his death.
The shooting report was received at 05:49 at the MDA 101 dispatch center in the Asher region. Senior MDA medic Mustafa Khatib stated: "Upon arrival, we saw a man lying unconscious, pulseless, and breathless after being injured in a violent incident. We immediately initiated advanced resuscitation efforts and evacuated him in an intensive care ambulance to the hospital."
With these latest tragedies, the death toll from violent crime in the Arab sector has reached 187 fatalities since the beginning of the year.
