A military court sentenced Muhammad Walid Ahmed Said to 45 years in prison for a shooting attack targeting an IDF soldiers' bus in the Jordan Valley in September 2022.

The terrorist was convicted after blocking the bus's route with accomplices, pouring flammable material on it, and opening fire with an M-16 rifle. The attack occurred on September 4, 2022, on Route 578 near the community of Beka'ot. During the incident, the terrorists attempted to ignite the bus with gasoline, but their own vehicle caught fire instead from the Molotov cocktails.

Security forces and Judea and Samaria district police apprehended two of the terrorists shortly afterward suffering from burns, while a manhunt pursued the third. Investigators recovered two rifles and a mobile phone from the burned vehicle. The court ordered Said to pay a 15,000 shekel fine and 700,000 shekels in compensation to the victims.

"The military prosecution will continue to pursue justice against anyone who harms IDF personnel and citizens of the State of Israel," the military prosecution stated. Proceedings regarding his accomplices remain ongoing.
