IDF Brigadier General Dismissed Over Personal Misconduct Inquiry
IDF Brigadier General Yogev Bar Sheshet was dismissed from military service following a command inquiry into personal misconduct and harassment allegations.
IDF Brigadier General Yogev Bar Sheshet has been dismissed from military service following an investigation into personal misconduct. Bar Sheshet, who served as the Deputy Comptroller of the Defense Establishment, requested an immediate retirement after a command inquiry led by Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Tamir Yadai.
The complaint against Bar Sheshet was filed by a combat officer, alleging personal harassment and the improper use of military position for personal matters unrelated to service. The Military Police Criminal Investigation Division (MPCID) and the Military Advocate General reviewed the case and found no justification for a criminal investigation, transferring the matter to a command review.
Bar Sheshet previously served in the Nahal Brigade, commanded the 50th Battalion, and acted as the operations officer for the Southern Command. In May 2024, he was moderately wounded by gunfire in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, making him the highest-ranking officer injured during the ongoing war in Gaza.
