Jewish families have moved into eight houses in Area C near the Palestinian city of Jericho following a covert purchase operation, according to local media reports. The movement was led by the Nachala organization with the backing and support of the Binyamin Regional Council.

The operation was kept strictly secret until the moment of entry, with security teams making extensive preparations. According to the Binyamin Regional Council, the eight houses are located on state land, some on the outskirts of Jericho near the Hasmonean Palaces archaeological site. Organizers stated that the properties were purchased in full with legally binding ownership documents.

Nachala movement chair Daniella Weiss stated that the initiative follows the settlement vision of Rabbi Levinger. "Today we are privileged to witness the continuation of this vision and open a new chapter in the history of settlement in Jericho," Weiss said.

Yisrael Ganz, chairman of the Yesha Council and head of the Binyamin Regional Council, linked the return to the historical events surrounding the Oslo Accords. "Jericho is the gateway of the Jewish people to their land. In the Oslo Accords, Israel abandoned it, and we are still paying the price of that flight today. Today we are beginning to reverse that direction, dismantling the Oslo Accords through action," Ganz said.

One of the residents who moved from the nearby community of Beit HaGadi expressed astonishment at the sudden operation. "For us, this was a dream, and we still cannot process that it is happening," she said.
