New Jersey Ticket Wins Massive $847 Million Powerball Jackpot
A New Jersey lottery player has won a massive $847 million Powerball jackpot, ending a three-month drought and claiming the ninth-largest prize in the game's history.

A Powerball ticket sold in New Jersey has won a massive $847 million jackpot, ending a nearly three-month drought without a top-prize winner. The winning numbers drawn were 15, 34, 41, 53, and 56, with the red Powerball number 21.
The identity of the winner remains undisclosed, and lottery officials have not yet revealed the specific retail location where the ticket was purchased. The victor faces a choice between an annuitized $847 million prize paid over 30 years or a lump-sum cash option of $363.1 million.
This marks the ninth-largest prize in Powerball history, surpassing a $768.4 million win from 2019. Locally, it shatters previous single-ticket records in New Jersey, easily eclipsing a $430 million prize won in Trenton in 2016.
The previous Powerball jackpot was hit on August 12, when an Illinois player claimed a $1.04 billion prize using a single quick-pick ticket purchased at a local convenience store.
