Internal Crisis Erupts at Israel Police Spokesperson Unit Over Briefings
A severe internal crisis at the Israel Police Spokesperson's Unit triggered shouting matches after Inspector General Danny Levi criticized briefings.

A severe internal crisis has erupted within the Israel Police Spokesperson's Unit, driven by severe friction between Police Spokesperson Chief Superintendent Aryeh Doron and several members of his staff over election briefings. According to reports, the tensions led to shouting matches and mutual accusations.
The confrontations followed harsh criticism leveled by Police Inspector General Danny Levi against Chief Superintendent Doron regarding briefings issued against the police force. Amid the escalating turmoil, Doron is reportedly attempting to remove his deputy, Superintendent Mirit Ben Mayor, and Investigations Division Spokesperson Chief Inspector Mark Engert from their positions.
Doron believes the two officials have been leaking briefings on behalf of Investigations Division Head Deputy Commissioner Boaz Blat, allegedly aimed at downplaying headlines regarding an ongoing election bribery investigation in the south.
During a tense exchange, Doron confronted his staff, shouting: "How can such briefings go out that harm the Inspector General? This is irresponsible." In response, one of the spokespersons remarked: "He is feeling the pressure from the Inspector General's shouting. After all, he is the chief briefer."
