A fresh surge of violent crime across Israel has claimed nearly 200 lives in the Arab sector this year, marked by a series of deadly shootings and stabbing incidents within a 24-hour window.
Among the recent victims is 22-year-old Yusef Hammad, who was shot dead at close range by an unidentified assailant near his home in Tamra. According to preliminary suspicions, the gunman intended to target another individual but opened fire on the young man as he stepped outside. Speaking to the press, the victim's father, Mahmoud Hammad, condemned the killing of his innocent son and placed direct blame on Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, accusing authorities of failing to curb the bloodshed.
In a separate incident in Baqa al-Gharbiya, 25-year-old Ahmad Jamal was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a group of youths, leaving behind some 200 bullet casings. Police are investigating potential links to an ongoing feud in Qalansawe that has already claimed ten lives. Meanwhile, 37-year-old prisoner Eyal Haib was shot dead at a bus stop near the Tzalmon Prison along Route 65 while on work release. Additional violent incidents included a suspected murder in the Negev, a fatal bus collision, a severe shooting in Lod, and a stabbing in Haifa.
