Isaac Tshibangu to Continue Trial at Maccabi Netanya
The 23-year-old winger made a positive impression at the training camp and will continue to be evaluated by coach Roni Levy. He may feature in Wednesday's Toto Cup match.
Maccabi Netanya, which announced this morning (Friday) the signing of midfielder Dolev Haziza, continues its efforts to add new foreign players to the squad. The 23-year-old Congolese winger, Isaac Tshibangu, who arrived for a trial 10 days ago at the team's training camp in Krakow, will continue to train with the team in Israel as he looks to impress coach Roni Levy.
Tshibangu, whose candidacy for Netanya was first reported by Walla Sport, typically plays as a left winger but can also operate on the right flank or behind the striker. In recent years, the Congolese player has competed primarily in the UAE, featuring for clubs such as Al-Nasr, Baniyas, and Emirates.
The player left a good impression during the training camp in Krakow, leading the coaching staff to extend his trial. Although he was sidelined with a minor injury last week, he has since recovered. Netanya officials hope he will be able to participate as a trialist in this coming Wednesday's Toto Cup match against Maccabi Petah Tikva.
Netanya will officially open its season tomorrow when it hosts Hapoel Jerusalem in the opening round of the Toto Cup (Saturday, 20:30, Sport2).
