Iran Warns Germany Over Military Action as US Reduces Regional Presence
Iran threatens German military bases if Berlin joins actions against Tehran, as the US reduces regional troop presence and prepares embassy evacuations amid rising tensions.

Iran has issued a direct warning to Germany, stating that if Berlin openly joins any military action against Tehran, all German military bases and facilities across the region will be considered legitimate targets. According to reports citing the Iranian Fars news agency, the formulation leaves open whether non-open assistance, such as intelligence or logistics, would also cross the red line.
This threat compounds a series of recent Iranian warnings primarily directed at the USA and Israel. According to Iranian security sources, Tehran assumes that a joint American and Israeli strike is inevitable, dismissing Washington's diplomatic statements as unreliable. Officials in Tehran argue that a recent speech by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Athens provided historical and cultural legitimacy for a conflict with Iran, while asserting that American Middle East policy is dictated by Tel Aviv.
Meanwhile, the US military has begun reducing its troop presence at various bases across the Middle East, including in Jordan, Qatar, and Kuwait. Simultaneously, the US State Department is preparing mandatory departure orders for non-emergency personnel and family members from several regional embassies amid escalating tensions and fears of a renewed military escalation in the region.
