IPS: Disciplinary proceedings against the officer who ordered an attack due to a parking dispute

Parallel to the criminal investigation against an Israel Prison Service (IPS) officer who is suspected of sending her sister and her friends to beat with clubs a young man with whom she had a dispute over a parking space, the IPS began on Thursday disciplinary proceedings against her.

The officer's sister, who is documented hitting the young man with a club, sent her a message in which she wrote: "Transvestite, he came at a pregnant woman, cut off his d..." Later, the sister went out to look for the young man's vehicle after the officer photographed the license plate.

The documentation of the incident was published on News 13, and it shows Tohar Yaakov, a young man from Kfar Yona, being attacked with clubs by several women, which led to his hospitalization with a head injury. In the footage, the IPS officer's sister and her friends are seen arriving at the young man, stopping their vehicle in the middle of the road, beating the young man vigorously with clubs, and vandalizing his vehicle.

The Israel Prison Service stated:

"This is a private incident that is not related to the officer's role in the Israel Prison Service. The officer was questioned under caution regarding it and was released at the end of her interrogation. Parallel to the investigation being conducted by the authorized bodies, the officer's matter is also being examined on the disciplinary level in the discipline branch of the Israel Prison Service, and as required, appropriate steps will be taken in accordance with the findings. The Israel Prison Service expects all its employees to act in accordance with the law and the norms of behavior expected of the organization's personnel, both on and off duty."
