Serious indictment: former Border Police officer sexually harassed a minor

The Department of Internal Police Investigations filed a serious indictment on Wednesday at the Nazareth Magistrate's Court against a former Border Police officer for sexually harassing a minor under the age of 14. According to the indictment, filed by attorney Hila Cohen, the defendant served as a combatant in the Shahar company of the Jerusalem Border Police and conducted sexually explicit correspondence with the minor via Instagram, while being fully aware of his young age.

Details from the indictment reveal that during the correspondence, the defendant repeatedly suggested that the minor meet him for sexual intercourse. He made sexual propositions, some with the promise of financial compensation, and repeatedly referred to the minor's sexuality. In addition, the defendant asked the minor to send him photos, inquired whether he had met with adults older than him in the past and had sexual relations with them, and suggested that he come to his home and even sleep over.

As the correspondence continued, the defendant explained sexual acts to the minor, sent him explicit sexual messages, and attempted to coordinate a meeting, even after the minor explicitly told him that he had not yet turned 14 and provided his date of birth. The indictment further describes that the defendant attempted to obtain details of another minor from the victim for the purpose of a sexual encounter, while simultaneously continuing to make further sexual propositions.
