"There were moments when I broke, they are trying to silence me in the most violent way"
In an interview, Dana Golan discussed the pressure and allegations she faces in politics. She stated that she has become the target of a violent persecution campaign that also affects her loved ones, but emphasized that she does not intend to back down.
During the interview, Dana Golan was asked about how she personally copes with the affairs and allegations against her.
"Apparently I touched what is called too many big and stinking cheeses, and I also moved them. They are trying to silence me in the most violent way," she said.
When asked if she sometimes regrets entering politics because of such struggles, she admitted that there were moments when she found it difficult to cope with the pressure.
"There were moments, come on, I'm not made of iron. There were moments when I broke. I really didn't imagine in my wildest dreams that such evil exists, that such hatred exists, that it is possible to lie so cruelly."
Golan claimed that the conduct against her is not limited to her alone, but also harms the people close to her.
"The campaign of persecution against me is violent. I am just a new minister in the Israeli government who goes with my truth, and goes with it truly to the end. This is a difficult and violent setup that in the end is not only against me, but also against my loved ones, who are literally being abused and humiliated in a severe way."
According to her, the situation led her to wonder about the state of democracy in Israel: "You stand and ask yourself, Lord, what is happening? Where am I living? Where is the democracy that I am so proud of?". Despite the difficulties she described, Golan made it clear that she does not intend to back down: "They want to break you, Dana, they want to break you. I will not let them break me."
