Worked for Ardan: Former senior member of "Kulanu" joins Eisenkot

Chairman of the Kulanu faction and former Knesset member Roi Folkman announced today (Monday) that he is joining the Yachar! party led by Gadi Eisenkot — in a highly surprising move. Folkman stood by Gilad Erdan's side during his party's launch and as of yesterday was still holding talks in an attempt to promote a union between forces in the "third bloc". However, it now turns out that in parallel to these contacts, Folkman held behind-the-scenes talks with Eisenkot — at the end of which he decided to join him.

"I will work to restore dignity to the Knesset of Israel"

"I decided to join Gadi Eisenkot and the Yachar! party because the State of Israel needs state-oriented and professional leadership that knows how to turn plans into actions," explained Folkman regarding his return to politics.

According to him, his experience in the Knesset taught him that real change requires hard work, knowledge, and a willingness to fight against barriers and interests. He stated he would work to restore dignity to the Knesset of Israel.

Folkman added that he sees Eisenkot as a leader who can provide responsible governance, strengthen public service, and return national interests to the center of decision-making.

Eisenkot: "A significant asset for the team"

Yachar! Chairman Gadi Eisenkot welcomed Folkman's joining, calling him a professional and hardworking parliamentarian with rich political experience and a deep understanding of government systems.

"He possesses the skills and experience to manage stable and responsible coalition work. Roi's experience and professionalism will be a significant asset for the team that will lead Israel's national correction and recovery. Roi, welcome to Yachar!," added Eisenkot.

From "Kulanu" to "Yachar!"

Folkman served as a Knesset member and chairman of the Kulanu faction in the 20th Knesset. During his tenure, he was involved in promoting measures in the fields of housing, cost of living, and banking reform. In 2019, he retired from political life, later working as head of the Financial Competition Forum and in other public roles.

Folkman joins a number of figures who have already joined Eisenkot's party, including former Shin Bet head Yoram Cohen, former minister Matan Kahana, former minister Orit Farkash-Hacohen, economist Shaul Meridor, Major General (res.) Kamil Abu Rukun, and head of the South Sharon Regional Council Oshrat Gani Gonen.
