An 8th-grade student in India used his father’s phone, but instead of studying, he made purchases in the online game Roblox totaling about 42,000 rupees. His family sought help online after claiming that the money, intended for loan repayment and tuition, disappeared due to these transactions.

The incident came to light after the student’s brother shared a post on social media, explaining that the teenager had taken his father’s phone under the guise of using it for schoolwork. In reality, he was playing Roblox and purchasing virtual currency. According to the brother, by the time the family discovered the charges, almost all the currency had been spent, leaving only about 100 Robux coins in the account.

The family is now seeking advice on whether it is possible to obtain a refund for the purchases. The post sparked a wave of online responses. Some users recommended that the family contact Roblox support, Google, and their bank to request a transaction reversal, even if it meant risking the account being blocked. Others noted that this case highlights the importance of parental supervision over digital purchases and the need to teach children responsible financial behavior at a young age.
