Harel Skaat Speaks Out Against School Bullying at Presidential Residence

Israeli singer and actor Harel Skaat participated on Sunday in the launch event of a community educational program aimed at preventing boycotts and bullying. The initiative is led by the Sisma association as part of a national movement by the Forum to Combat Bullying Among Children and Youth, held under the auspices of the President's Residence.

The event took place in the presence of President Isaac Herzog, municipal leaders, and school principals from across the country. During the ceremony, Skaat performed his songs and shared a painful personal memory from his childhood.

"I remember very well what it feels like to feel different. There is one moment in my childhood that I will never forget. Once, in the middle of a gym class, someone told me, 'What is that, you have a girl's voice.' It sounds like a small sentence, but at that moment, my heart broke," Skaat shared.

Embracing Uniqueness and Fatherhood

The famous artist continued by describing how he felt that something was wrong with him back then. However, looking back today, he realizes that his unique voice became the greatest gift of his life. As a father, Skaat emphasized how difficult it is to think of children who are afraid to go to school and urged witnesses of bullying never to remain silent.

Skaat is a prominent figure in Israeli culture, known for his hits and his family life with former Knesset member Idan Roll.
