Noa Kirel has made an impressive debut in Argentina. According to production announcements, within just 24 hours of its release on Amazon Prime Video, her series Mirame Asi - El Camino de Noa climbed to second place in the streaming service's national rankings.

A Musical Journey in Argentina

Kirel stars in the musical drama as a young waitress who arrives in Argentina following a heartbreak and joins a fledgling band. There, she meets Tommy, played by Argentine actor and singer Agustin Bernasconi, and finds herself caught in a love triangle. The 24-episode series was filmed in Argentina in Spanish and features nine original songs performed by the cast.

The project was championed by producer Yair Dori, known for bringing iconic Argentine telenovelas like Chiquititas and Rebelde Way to Israel. According to Dori, the path to the series began with a meeting with Kirels agent, Roberto Ben-Shoshan, evolving into a co-production with Argentine creators and actors. The series was created by Argentine screenwriter Patricia Maldonado, who previously worked on shows distributed by Dori. Kirel herself noted that she grew up watching Casi Angeles and that recording the new show's soundtrack brought back childhood memories.

Legal Dispute Over Origins

However, alongside the series' launch, a copyright dispute has emerged. Israeli screenwriter Rotem Carmeli filed a 2.6 million shekel copyright infringement lawsuit against Dori and the production companies behind the project. She claims the series is based on a format she developed and pitched to producers.

The creators and producers strongly reject the claim, insisting that the series is an entirely original work by Maldonado. Furthermore, Dori and SIPUR reportedly sent Carmeli a legal warning letter, arguing that the presentation of the lawsuit is misleading. The core question regarding the show's origins has yet to be settled in court.

Global Horizons for Israeli Content

The series premiered on October 9 on Prime Video across Latin America and is also broadcast on America TV in Argentina and Peru. For Israeli audiences, a practical question remains: no official release date has been announced for streaming within Israel.

This success highlights a broader trend of Israeli-connected content making waves abroad. As international platforms continue to embrace diverse productions, the industry watches to see whether Kirel's strong opening numbers in Latin America will sustain momentum well beyond the premiere week.
