The clarification comes amid intense political discourse regarding potential cooperation and alliances with Ofer Winter's party.
Meeting in Jerusalem
Despite the announcement, reports emerged over the Sabbath that the chairman of "Amcha Yisrael" was spotted conversing with the chairman of "Ha-Tzibur Ha-Haredi," Moti Leitner, at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Jerusalem. While the content of the meeting remains unknown, its occurrence during active political negotiations raises questions about potential joint run scenarios, though no official source has confirmed this.
Potential Harvard Candidate
These developments gain further significance following a report by Dana Bezalel, which revealed that Dr. Nechumi Yaffe is traveling to Israel from Harvard University to discuss an offer to take the second spot on the "Ha-Tzibur Ha-Haredi" list. Currently, these are only preliminary talks, and no official announcement regarding her joining has been made.
Yaffe does not hide her political views. In an interview with the Jewish-American platform 18Forty, she stated:
"I define myself as a leftist and a religious person."
In another interview from 2023, she shared that it was only during her academic studies that she realized her worldview placed her on the left side of the political spectrum. Additionally, she has previously commented on the war and the hostage deal, stating that if a concrete proposal for the return of the hostages and a ceasefire were on the table, Israel should have seized it.
