Hanoch Daum asks for prayers: "May there be good news"

Media personality Hanoch Daum, who often shares and discusses current and burning issues in Israel with his followers, issued an appeal on social media following the heavy tragedy in southern Lebanon. Daum asked the public to increase prayers for the four reserve soldiers who were seriously wounded in the same incident.

In a post he published, Daum shared: "I was asked to publish the names of four soldiers who were seriously wounded today in Lebanon for prayer: Eitan ben Lea Bracha, Yedidya ben Yael, Dolev ben Atara, Itabark ben Dasta," and signed off with the wish, "May there be good news."

The call for prayer comes following the difficult event in which company commander Major (res.) Harel Birenstock, 34, from Nokdim, and Sergeant Major (res.) Tamir Vaknin, 33, from Eilat, both from the 2855th Battalion of the 55th Brigade, were killed. The two fell yesterday in an explosive device blast in the village of Majdal Zoun.

The incident occurred during searches conducted by the force inside a destroyed house in the village from which Hezbollah fighters withdrew in March. The IDF is currently checking whether the device was planted before the organization's withdrawal or if a cell planted it recently and detonated it remotely. The two are the first IDF casualties in Lebanon since the end of June (when Captain David Hazut was killed), while since the beginning of the round of fighting in the north on March 2, 40 IDF soldiers and four civilians have been killed.
