Guy Peleg speaks out against Netanyahu live on air: "They are cooking up another war for us"

Guy Peleg, a legal correspondent for Channel 12 News and a radio host on 103FM, is considered one of the sharpest critics of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In his program on 103FM, Peleg expressed his position regarding the terror attack that occurred near the Havat Gilad farm in the West Bank.

As recalled, Banyahu Malet (of blessed memory), a member of the rapid response team and the agricultural manager at Havat Gilad, was murdered in the attack. Malet went out to assist a group of hikers who were attacked in the area and was shot by terrorists on the spot. In addition, IDF soldier Yuval Ezra was murdered in the attack.

Peleg, known for his controversial statements, addressed the incident while attacking the government and its head:

"Gentlemen, they are cooking up a war for us, another war. As if we haven't been in one long war for three and a half years already, they are cooking up another one, just to be sure. So that we talk and deal with it, and not with the 'Netanyahu disaster', the massacre of October 7th. So that there will be other, more urgent security challenges, so that we, God forbid, don't investigate that disaster, because who has the strength and time to investigate what happened 3 and a half years ago, when we are still fighting and fighting again."

Later in his remarks, the journalist criticized the hikers who came to tour the place:

"Gentlemen, there are no hikes in the village of Tel. There are no tours near mosques in the West Bank territories. Let them not spin my words. There is no justification for opening fire, not at a settler, not at a hiker, not at anyone. But this was not an innocent hike by lovers of the land, that is clear. One must mention the context, and the context is the whole story. The government of Israel, under the cover of the 'Netanyahu disaster' and the October 7th disaster, is acting to fundamentally change the reality in the West Bank."

Afterward, Peleg expressed pain over the murder of Banyahu Malet and IDF soldier Yuval Ezra. At the same time, he claimed that the government is exploiting the security incident for political interests:

"After the 'hike' went wrong, Banyahu Malet and IDF soldier Yuval Ezra, of blessed memory, were killed. Four Palestinians were also killed. Since then, our Minister of Defense chose to run to prison, to meet with a settler, an administrative detainee suspected of very serious crimes, and to fawn over him. The government issued belligerent statements. Like someone who has found great spoils, the government of Israel is pouncing on the opportunity to activate the territory, to ignite it even more. The army has opened a new operation in the West Bank, soldiers will enter Palestinian villages and cities, they will report to us that the territory is burning and there is no choice, and they will ignite it. They are already igniting it."
