A violent incident occurred at the Mitzpe Golan elementary school in Bnei Yehuda, located within the Golan Regional Council, where a student severely attacked a teacher during class. According to the Israel Teachers Union, the pupil repeatedly disrupted the lesson and was asked to step outside to calm down. When the teacher approached him upon his return, the student launched a violent assault, punching, kicking, and pulling her hair while forcing her head to the floor. Another staff member was also injured while trying to intervene during the minutes-long ordeal, which unfolded partly in front of other students.

In response to the assault, the Israel Teachers Union announced that classes at the school will begin at 9:00 AM on Tuesday. Between 8:00 and 9:00 AM, the head of the union's Tiberias branch, Omri Nahum, will hold an informational session with the teaching staff to help them cope with the trauma. Michael Pinto, deputy secretary-general and head of the professional union division, strongly condemned the violence, stating that the organization will utilize all available means to ensure personal safety for educators in the workplace.

The incident has reignited concerns regarding the tracking and reporting of violence against educational staff. While the Ministry of Education collects extensive data on the school system, detailed statistics regarding assaults on teachers are not systematically published. Many educators report a pervasive sense that the ministry fails to provide sufficient backing and deterrence against student violence, leaving teachers vulnerable. Local union representatives emphasized that physical violence against educators crosses a red line and vowed to provide comprehensive support to the affected staff.
