Investigation into Flydubai Hijacking Attempt

US President Donald Trump recently stated that Iran was involved in an attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight carrying 180 passengers and crew, including 170 Israelis, with plans to crash the aircraft. However, investigations by the Mossad and the Shin Bet have not yet found additional accomplices in the planning and execution of the hijacking plot.

Currently, the pilot acting as the hijacker is being interrogated by investigators from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Meanwhile, Shin Bet and Mossad operatives have conducted numerous operations to advance the investigation. These efforts include mapping the circles around the pilot, building a comprehensive profile, examining international flight destinations, and deploying extensive intelligence.

Strategic Pressure on Iran and Regional Readiness

Following reports that the US President asked Israel to take military action against Iran, Trump's remarks regarding the Flydubai flight are interpreted as a push to pressure Israel publicly. Security officials note that while maritime and economic blockades affect Iran, they have not yet achieved the desired strategic outcomes.

"IDF and the Air Force are on high alert precisely in case someone in Iran decides to make a mistake and launch a strike against Israel, because they are backed into a corner and want to disrupt the elections," said a military source.

The ultimate goal remains the dismantling of the ayatollah regime in Tehran, alongside securing enriched nuclear materials and targeting Iran's ballistic missile infrastructure. Military sources emphasize that the IDF is not currently preparing for a preemptive strike on Iran, though air defenses remain on high alert to intercept any incoming threats.

Security Operations in Gaza and Lebanon

In the southern and northern sectors, the IDF maintains defensive-offensive postures without violating existing ceasefire understandings. In Gaza, forces eliminate between three and four operatives daily, primarily targeting Hamas efforts to rebuild military capabilities and replenish arsenals. In Lebanon, the military monitors Hezbollah attempts to reconstitute forces beyond permitted operational lines, ensuring regional stability ahead of upcoming national elections.
