Ashdod has no shortage of delicious food trucks, but when it comes to the city's culinary scene, it is hard not to think of Pescado, the beloved veteran fish restaurant of Chef Yechiel Zino and Eran Zano. Evolving from a famous local fishing dynasty, the family's younger generation is now keeping the tradition alive with a new seaside food truck serving upscale restaurant-grade dishes in eco-friendly disposable tableware.

A Seaside Culinary Experience

The new venture—aptly named Fish Truck by Zano Dagim—is located on the Ashdod marina promenade, right by the water. The stunning view, ocean breeze, and docked yachts set the scene. Guests can sit at tables near the truck or grab a spot at the high bar overlooking the waves. Before diving into the menu, visitors are greeted with the grandfather’s homemade olives and addictive spicy almonds (35 NIS), reminiscent of those served at Pescado.

Street Food Elevated to Art

While fish-based street food has surged in popularity, the Zano family brings unmatched expertise. The menu features classic fish and chips (55 NIS) and a crispy sea bream sandwich in a soft bun (65 NIS). Other highlights include crispy fish cigars (27 NIS) stuffed with tuna, Nile perch, and cod, served with tahini, and a delicate yellowtail crudo on charred focaccia bruschetta (38 NIS).

If you want to eat fish, this is the best way to do it: right by the sea with the breeze in your hair, courtesy of true masters of their craft.

For heartier appetites, the menu offers a sea bass kebab with meshoosha salad inside focaccia (42 NIS), a seared tuna burger in a cloud-like brioche bun (65 NIS), and even a luxurious grouper skewer served with grated tomato and fresh focaccia (68 NIS). Delivery is also available via Wolt, making this ultimate seaside treat accessible anywhere in Ashdod.
