Israeli Pride: Sheba Named One of the World's Greenest Hospitals

Sheba Medical Center is the only Israeli hospital included in the World’s Greenest Hospitals 2026 ranking, compiled by Newsweek magazine and the research firm Statista. The ranking evaluates the commitment of hospitals around the world to responsible environmental management and the reduction of their environmental footprint. Key metrics examined include greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency, water and waste management, responsible procurement, corporate governance, and long-term sustainability strategies.

In recent years, Sheba has led a strategic sustainability program that includes mapping greenhouse gas emissions, a target for net-zero emissions by 2050, resource consumption reduction, the promotion of responsible procurement, and the integration of ESG principles into organizational governance. The medical center publishes an annual ESG report and has been featured in the Maala organization's corporate responsibility index for the past two years. This year, Sheba achieved the Platinum Plus rating, the highest in the index.
