Families of 9/11 victims are preparing for a fierce battle against U.S. President Donald Trump's approval of civilian nuclear reactors in Saudi Arabia. Represented by "9/11 Families United" chair Terry Strada, the families argue that Saudi Arabia is untrustworthy and responsible for the murder of 3,000 people without ever admitting it.

Activists hope to use the nuclear agreement approval process, which allows U.S. firms to work with Saudis on multi-billion dollar projects, as leverage to pressure Riyadh into admitting complicity in the terror attacks. Meanwhile, senators are demanding the White House release hidden side agreements.

Senator Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat from Connecticut, stated he will oppose or question the nuclear deal until the families' claims are resolved. A coalition of families is suing the kingdom in federal court, noting 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi citizens.

Saudi Arabia denies involvement and insists its nuclear program is peaceful. U.S. President Donald Trump said he would review the release of 9/11 documents concerning Saudi Arabia following a speech by Strada.
