Europol Arrests Seven Suspects in Multi-Million Euro Investment Fraud
Europol coordinated an international police operation involving Israel's Lahav 433 unit, resulting in seven arrests and the seizure of over 100 servers tied to a 4 million euro online investment fraud network.

Europol has coordinated a major international operation resulting in the arrest of seven suspects linked to a global online investment fraud network that allegedly defrauded victims of over 4 million euros. The suspects are facing extradition to Germany, where the primary investigation is centered.
The international sweep involved law enforcement agencies from multiple jurisdictions, including the Israeli police unit Lahav 433, alongside authorities in Germany, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Cyprus, and Finland. According to investigators, the network operated under a "crime-as-a-service" model, supplying various criminal syndicates with fraudulent websites and technical infrastructure used to deceive investors.
The investigation was launched in 2022 following a complaint from a German couple who lost their life savings after investing in a rogue online trading platform and failing to withdraw their funds. Europol reported that the operation led to the seizure of more than 100 servers and substantial digital evidence.
Investigators revealed that the syndicate lured victims worldwide with promises of massive short-term returns through cryptocurrency, forex, and stock trading. After initial modest investments, victims were shown fabricated profits to build trust, followed by aggressive pressure to deposit larger sums. When attempts were made to withdraw funds, investors encountered endless delays and excuses before the operators vanished with the capital.
Following years of intelligence gathering, a series of coordinated international action days enabled authorities to dismantle key call centers operating in Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia, while identifying the managers and operatives behind the Cyprus-Israel-based company.
