"Due to security concerns": USA bans government employee travel to the West Bank

In practice, the restriction has been extended and will remain in effect until this coming Wednesday, unless it is extended again or cancelled.

Just the day before yesterday, an unusual incident occurred near a farm in Susiya in the southern Hebron Hills, when a Palestinian stole a weapon from an Israeli. During a physical confrontation, the Palestinian wounded the farmer—a 25-year-old IDF soldier on leave—in the head with a stone and snatched his military weapon. The attacker fired shots toward a nearby farm and fled the scene. The farmer was moderately wounded and evacuated by MADA teams to Soroka Hospital. Following a manhunt, IDF and Border Police forces located the suspect and recovered the stolen weapon.
Simultaneously, security forces conducted an extensive operation throughout the West Bank, arresting more than 70 wanted persons and questioning hundreds of suspects. Activity focused on the village of Tal in the Samaria region, the residence of the terrorist who carried out a shooting attack on Friday. During the raid, Nahal reconnaissance fighters arrested 11 wanted persons and questioned about 80 suspects. Forces scanned over 300 buildings and locations, arresting individuals identified with Hamas and those planning explosive device attacks.
In the Tulkarm area, Duvdevan fighters arrested 14 individuals, including a Hamas activist and a person planning an imminent attack. In the Binyamin area, forces arrested approximately 20 wanted persons involved in planning attacks, throwing Molotov cocktails, and weapons trafficking, while 50 additional suspects underwent field questioning. In the Etzion and Judea sectors, 16 suspects were arrested for incitement, ties to Hamas, and weapons trafficking offenses, with one hunting rifle confiscated. All detainees were transferred for further investigation.
