Central Election Committee Chairman Justice Noam Solberg addressed the public on Sunday, reassuring citizens that the 26th Knesset elections were conducted properly and that the results accurately reflect the voters' will. Speaking alongside Shin Bet Director David Zini, Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, and Acting Election Committee CEO Dean Livne, Solberg stated that while the investigation into suspected foreign interference is severe, current evidence does not undermine the overall election results.

Solberg emphasized that the ongoing Shin Bet investigation is classified and currently in its covert stage, noting that much of the recent media reporting has been inaccurate. He explained that the probe focuses on suspected foreign funding aimed at influencing the election with potential security implications. However, he stressed that solid evidence is required to overturn election results and that the current material does not warrant such a step.

To ensure a thorough investigation, authorities will establish a joint team led by the Shin Bet, Israel Police, and the State Attorney's Office. Solberg also explicitly noted that the investigation casts no doubt on the voting process within Arab society, praising the high turnout as a legitimate exercise of democratic rights. Official election results will be published and submitted to the president as scheduled.
