Dyson Unveils CameraJet Toothbrush with Built-in Camera
Dyson has introduced the CameraJet, an electric toothbrush featuring a built-in camera and AI-driven processor that identifies interdental spaces to deliver precise water jets for cleaning.
When we say Dyson, you probably think of vacuum cleaners. After all, not every company manages to become synonymous with an entire category. However, Dyson has successfully entered markets for fans, air purifiers, and hair styling gadgets. Now, the company has decided to enter a completely new field: toothbrushes. Meet the Dyson CameraJet — an electric toothbrush equipped with a built-in camera.
This device is not just another vibrating toothbrush. It comes with a tiny built-in camera and a processor trained (using AI, as it is 2026) on interdental spaces. As soon as the algorithm detects a space between the teeth (analyzing 28 live images per second), it sprays a short jet of water, effectively replacing the need for dental floss or a dedicated water flosser. The entire process occurs within 100 milliseconds and is much gentler on teeth and gums than standard flossers. Dyson claims the system operates on 16 million lines of code and was trained on 470,000 dental images.
If desired, you can watch your mouth in real-time via the Dyson app, which connects wirelessly via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. According to Dyson, images are not saved on the brush or uploaded to the cloud, but the app provides personalized guidance to improve brushing habits.
Technical Specifications
The jet mechanism utilizes a small 12.5 ml tank, allowing it to operate during brushing. The company uses a diaphragm pump and a pressure chamber instead of a tube, ensuring water is delivered at any angle without introducing air into the mechanism. Since the tank is tiny, the charging station features its own reservoir, refilling the brush in 3 seconds when docked.
The brush head is capable of up to 1,000 movements per second. Each head includes an RFID tag to alert the user when it is time for a replacement. Dyson also warns against using foaming toothpastes and recommends its own branded toothpaste and mouthwash.
As of now, the launch date and price for the Dyson CameraJet in Israel have not been set. In the United States, the brush will retail for $499.
