Two children were injured on Monday in a violent incident on Emek HaZeitim Street in Beit Shemesh. Medical teams arriving at the scene are performing resuscitation efforts on a 9-year-old child in critical condition and are providing treatment to a 4-year-old, whose condition is defined as serious. The children were found after being stabbed inside their apartment.

According to reports, a neighbor arrived at the children's home, stabbed them, and fled the scene. The suspect, a 26-year-old man with a history of mental health issues, was apprehended by police shortly after the incident.

Akiva Yungreis, Moshe Siroka, and Elia Asulin, United Hatzalah paramedics who arrived at the scene, stated: "We were informed that the victims were injured as a result of violence. With the assistance of additional paramedics, we provided initial medical treatment at the scene. Afterward, they were evacuated to a hospital for further care. United Hatzalah's psychotrauma unit is providing mental health support due to the nature of the incident."

The police confirmed that an investigation has been opened: "The children were found at the scene with signs of violence, and police forces have arrested a suspect. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will follow."
