Less than 48 hours after the previous murder in Jaffa, another murder took place tonight (Sunday) in the city. This time, the victim is Muhammad Rafat Ahmad Katuan, a young man from Jaljulia, who was shot to death on Leib ben Sara Street. In the same incident, a young man in his 20s was also seriously wounded, found on the nearby Ha-Rabi mi-Lilov Street.

The first report was received by MADA at 01:11. When the teams arrived at Leib ben Sara Street, they found Katuan with no signs of life, and after medical examinations, they were forced to declare his death at the scene. Only six minutes later, another report was received, this time from Ha-Rabi mi-Lilov Street, where a young man in his 20s was found conscious and in serious condition. After initial treatment, he was evacuated to Wolfson Hospital.

Forces from the Jaffa station and forensic investigators arrived at the scenes, collected findings, and began searches for the suspects. The commander of the Tel Aviv District, Major General Haim Sargruf, and the commander of the Ayalon District, Brigadier General Daniel Hadad, held a situation assessment at the scene, and the investigation was transferred to the Central Unit of the Tel Aviv District.

MADA doctor Fadi Kurdi and MADA paramedic Elhanan Alon said:

"There was a lot of commotion at the scene, we saw the wounded man unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing. We performed medical checks, but unfortunately his injuries were significant and we had no choice but to declare his death."

At the second scene, MADA paramedic Vadim Gubshtein and MADA medic Sheldon Levin treated the young man who was seriously wounded. According to them, he was fully conscious upon their arrival, received medical treatment in the field, and was evacuated in an intensive care ambulance to Wolfson Hospital.

The murder tonight occurred while the Tel Aviv Central Unit is still investigating the previous murder in the city. On Friday early morning, 29-year-old Ahmad Abd Shukra from Jaffa was shot to death while riding an electric bicycle on Jerusalem Boulevard. According to the initial investigation, a jeep stopped next to him, one of its occupants got out and opened fire at him.

Three Jaffa residents in their 20s were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Shukra. Two of them were arrested in Holon, and according to the police, they threw a Glock pistol from the apartment where they were staying. The pistol was located and seized, and as part of the investigation, a jeep was also seized which is suspected of being used to carry out the murder and escape from the scene.

Yesterday, the three suspects were brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for a hearing on the extension of their detention. The court ordered them to remain in custody until September 3, while the investigation into their case continues.
