Protesters arrive at homes of senior Women of the Wall members: "I fear for my life"
Protesters arrived at the homes of Anat Hoffman and Yochi Rappeport in Haifa and Jerusalem, shouted insults using megaphones, and confronted neighbors. Women of the Wall claim that the police did not arrive at the scene.
A group of protesters from the ultra-Orthodox sector arrived this week in the early morning hours at the homes of the chair of Women of the Wall, Anat Hoffman, and the organization's CEO, Yochi Rappeport, shouting insults at them using megaphones.
According to Women of the Wall, the protesters arrived at Hoffman's home in the Bat Galim neighborhood of Haifa around 6:45, and at Rappeport's home in Jerusalem around 5:30. The organization claimed that the addresses of the two women were obtained fraudulently.
It was further alleged that during the events, some of the protesters confronted neighbors in the area and continued shouting through megaphones. Hoffman's partner and her neighbor contacted the police to request intervention, but according to Women of the Wall, police officers did not arrive at the scene. Anat Hoffman stated in response: "This is crossing a red line, and the police must treat this threat with the utmost seriousness. I want to know, why did the police not arrive at the scene following our request? What will happen if 100 protesters arrive next time? I fear for my life and the lives of my family."
