From crocodile moats to attacks on Eisenkot: The horror show of the Likud primaries

On August 3, 2025, a group of liquidators, sent by the Nature and Parks Authority, raided the crocodile farm in Petza'el. According to the Authority's report, the group shot 262 crocodiles to death. The farm's owner claims in a lawsuit filed in court that about 800 crocodiles were killed that day. The farm was fenced with pools for the reptiles' well-being and prevented any possibility of preying on humans.

Now she is running in the Likud primaries, after being 'reserved' in the previous 2022 elections, thanks to the move that brought down the 'change government' together with Amichai Chikli and Nir Orbach. Silman was the coalition chair then, but betraying the party and the voters is always a profitable and rewarding business, albeit one that triggers a gag reflex.

Now she is joining a delusional project, by 'Popeye' Itamar Ben Gvir, to fortify the prison in Ktzi'ot using water moats containing crocodiles, which will eat their fill of any terrorist who tries to escape from the prison.

There are no such patents even in Guantanamo or in Wroclaw, which serve as prisons for security prisoners in the USA. In both of these sites, career soldiers are the security guards, not the Federal Marshal unit that oversees prisoners in federal prisons within the USA. This is just an example.

Every year, about 300 cases are reported where crocodiles ate their fill of humans, mainly in Africa. The Nile crocodile is a giant reptile up to five meters long and weighing about 750 kilograms. It is reasonable to assume that 'Popeye' Ben Gvir and Idit Silman will be satisfied with three cases of terrorists being preyed upon per year.

No one guarantees that in the winter, for example on a cold and rainy night, crocodiles will prey on terrorists. Because when it is cold outside, the crocodile burrows into the sand to maintain its body heat. I really hope that if such an escape succeeds, they won't execute some crocodiles because they were negligent.

Silman's political future is unclear. Joining Ben Gvir's Otzma Yehudit is a reasonable possibility.
