Brig. Gen. (res.) Dedi Simhi, whose son Guy Simhi fell in combat on the morning of October 7, penned an emotional letter to him on the special memorial portal of ynet, marking three years since his death.

Remembering Guy Simhi

"Guy, October 4, 2023, third memorial service for our boy, our hero, my lion! How have three years passed without your return?" Dedi wrote. "The country and life keep moving, and you do not return."

"Who does not know Guy Simhi and his courage? I think to myself that since October 7, all our lives have changed, the state has changed, and proportions in thinking have shifted."

The Continuing Fight for Security

Simhi, a former Fire and Rescue Commissioner, emphasized the moral obligation to secure the nation's borders and ensure that the fallen did not die in vain. He stressed that Israel must continue to change the Middle East and make enemies pay a heavy price for the October 7 massacre.

"We must create a better and more protective security situation for many years to come across all our borders," Simhi wrote, concluding with a promise to keep moving forward.
