The 'pre-army' vacation of a group of 18-year-olds in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria, has turned into a prolonged nightmare. The young Israelis, who arrived for a trip before their military service, reported being trapped in their hotel rooms for many hours following a violent attack by a group of British nationals on Tuesday.

The incident began as the teenagers were returning to their hotel from a local party. According to the group, they were identified as Israelis by a large group of foreigners who then began to follow them. In a dark alley, the attackers grabbed two of the friends, beating them violently with pepper spray and other weapons. Another member of the group was dragged into an alley, where he was brutally attacked and choked.

The teenagers managed to escape and barricade themselves in their hotel rooms, but they have since feared for their lives and do not dare to leave.

The mother of one of the trapped teenagers described the situation:

«My son has been locked in the room since last night. They cannot even go down to buy food or water. There are groups of antisemites outside walking around like wolves, just looking to prey on Israelis. The children are in extreme anxiety, and the local police are simply not helping or protecting them.»

According to the parents, the families have contacted the relevant authorities. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the situation room is aware of the incident and is handling it, but as of now, the young people on the ground have not received any practical assistance or protection. The parents are calling on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and official Israeli bodies to intervene immediately, establish urgent contact with the group, and ensure their safety and evacuation.
