"It was hard for me": Yael Shelbia opens up about her health struggles
Yael Shelbia shared details about her battle with acne, the challenges of living with race car driver Lance Stroll, traveling with their dog, and the importance of financial discipline.

Yael Shelbia arrived on the set of the fashion brand "Renoir" to shoot their new holiday collection for Rosh Hashanah. Between takes, the model expressed her complete satisfaction with the looks chosen for the campaign. This was her first day back after a three-week vacation, which she described as a much-needed escape: "It was wow, absolutely perfect. Three crazy weeks. I think we’ve never taken so much time to just rest, enjoy, and travel."
Life alongside her partner, international race car driver Lance Stroll, requires meticulous planning. The couple must coordinate their schedules months in advance to navigate his intense racing calendar. "We plan everything up to January, knowing exactly where we will be and where we can make adjustments," Shelbia explained. "Lance’s schedule is quite rigid, so I’m usually the one who adapts, but we manage to find a middle ground." Their shared dog, Tut, has also become a seasoned traveler, now fully accustomed to the constant flights and life on the road.
During the interview, Shelbia touched upon Lance’s spiritual journey. His recent social media posts showing him wearing tefillin sparked significant interest. "I didn’t push him toward it; he chose to share it himself," she said with a smile. "It’s the sweetest thing, and in a way, it feels very Israeli. He really tries to put them on regularly. Religion has become a beautiful, shared part of our relationship."
Beyond her career and travels, Shelbia is currently preparing to move into a new apartment in Tel Aviv. While the process is time-consuming, she is excited about the new home. She also opened up about a recent health challenge: a severe acne flare-up. "It lasted two weeks. I had to take antibiotics prescribed by my dermatologist and stay out of the sun. It was quite difficult, but thankfully, things are much better now."
When asked about her goals for the next five years, she replied with humor: "Five years? Established, living in New York, and, God willing, healthy—that’s what matters most." She concluded the interview with financial advice for the younger generation: "Save! My mother taught me to save from a young age, and I still do it today. Every month, I invest or put money into savings. Even small amounts add up over time." And when asked for the best investment one can make today, she winked and said: "Open an Instagram!"
