Drivers, take note: Ayalon and the Coastal Highway will be closed this week
Full night closures will take place on major traffic arteries in the Gush Dan area. In the coming nights, sections of the Ayalon lanes northbound and Highway 2 southbound will be closed for the installation of signage on bridges.
Full closures will be carried out this week for several nights as part of the 'Fast Lanes' infrastructure project. The closures will take place between 00:00 and 05:00 in the morning for the purpose of installing signage on bridges along major traffic arteries.
Between Monday and Tuesday (August 3)
Where: Highway 20 (Ayalon North) will be closed on the section between Rokach Interchange and KKL Interchange.
Alternative route: Traffic will be diverted to the exit at Rokach Interchange. Entry to Ayalon North from KKL Interchange will be possible as usual.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday (August 4)
Where: Highway 2 (Coastal Highway) southbound will be closed on the section between Poleg Interchange and Wingate Interchange.
Alternative route: Entry to Highway 2 South from Poleg Interchange will be closed, and traffic will be diverted to Highway 553 and from there to Highway 4. Entry to Highway 2 North from Poleg Interchange and entry to Highway 2 South from Wingate Interchange will remain open.
Between Wednesday and Thursday (August 5)
Where: Highway 2 (Coastal Highway) southbound will be closed on the section between Netanya Interchange and Gesher HaShalom Interchange.
Alternative route: Entry to Highway 2 South from Netanya Interchange will be closed. Traffic will be diverted to Herzl Street and Ben Zvi Boulevard in Netanya, up to Gesher HaShalom Interchange. Entry to Highway 2 South from Gesher HaShalom Interchange will be possible as usual.
Due to the work, temporary changes will apply to public transport routes and station locations in the relevant areas. The public is invited to check for full details at the 'Kol Kav' call center (*8787) or in public transport applications.
Drivers are advised to prepare in advance, stay updated via navigation tools, and use apps (such as Waze) to choose an alternative route and avoid closure areas during work hours.
