Condolences to the editor of «Eretz Nehederet»: the parody about Israel Katz pales compared to the original

Eleven remarks about the “security minister” and the removal show he tried to hold last night on Channel 14 regarding the commander of the Central Command:

1. Last night, we witnessed in a live broadcast how the state is run. “Patriots” in disguise put pressure on government ministers and dictate policy.

2. The defense minister, who has been under pressure for months due to his position in the primaries, is trying to please them against his authority. He is harming the sitting commander in a sensitive sector in the middle of a war as he tries to deal with Palestinian terror, Jewish terror, and the whims of the defense minister who visits dangerous Jewish detainees in prisons.

3. I have seen many defense ministers up close in my life. I served as acting adviser to three. All of them were political people who served Israel’s security. Before us is Israel Katz, an exceptional case in which the security of the state is required to serve the minister assigned to it, every day and in every field.

4. The defense minister has no authority to remove or appoint a commander. This is an authority granted exclusively to the Chief of Staff. Israel Katz wants to turn the IDF into Ben Gvir’s police; Rav-Aluf Eyal Zamir will not allow him to do that.

5. The commander of the Central Command is the sovereign in the territories. He acted according to his authority after the defense minister ceased signing administrative arrest orders for lawbreaking Jews who endanger security in the territories, throwing the responsibility onto the commander in the hope that he would understand the “minister’s policy” and prefer it over considerations of state security.

6. Your eyes can see: there is no prime minister in Israel who will put the lawbreaking defense minister in his place, even though he appointed and backs the IDF and its commanders against the “Katz riots.” Benjamin Netanyahu understands what Katz is doing. His assessment of Katz is limited to the barest minimum, but he remains silent.

7. I am sure that an overwhelming majority of the settlers in Judea and Samaria despise the defense minister and know how to appreciate the actions and achievements of the commander Avi Blot with the forces under his command.

8. Likud voters, and their children who serve in the IDF, should express utter disgust at the conduct of the defense minister and put him in his place in the primaries and in general.

9. Israeli citizens need to remove this failing and bad government from office.

10. The Chief of Staff, Rav-Aluf Eyal Zamir, proved publicly last night that he has backbone, that he is not afraid to confront, and that he will not allow the defense minister to intimidate commanders and remove them on live broadcast.

11. I understand the frustration of the editor of «Eretz Nehederet». The source rises above the parody in its own wretchedness. This happens sometimes.
