The AI revolution is changing not only the technologies that companies develop, but also the way startups build teams, define roles, and evaluate candidates. The change is already happening on the ground: companies are moving from large teams to small, multidisciplinary ones, expecting development managers to lead productivity and business value, and looking for candidates who know how to work with AI tools as an integral part of their role. At the same time, old recruitment and assessment methods are no longer sufficient, because almost every candidate can use AI to help with writing code, preparing assignments, and building presentations.

So how do you recruit a development team in an era where AI is integrated into almost every role? A new webinar will provide you with a practical playbook for recruiting, testing, and attracting the right talent to your company. The event will not focus on tools or technologies, but primarily on their direct impact on building the company: what new roles are being created, what roles are changing, what to look for in a development manager, and how to distinguish between a candidate who creates value on their own and a candidate who knows mainly how to present a product created with the help of AI.

The webinar, "How is artificial intelligence changing the way startups build a team?", will take place on July 28 at 13:30. Participation is free of charge and subject to receiving registration confirmation by email. The event is held in collaboration with Gotfriends and Fusion, the leading Pre-Seed platform in Israel.

Defining a role, identifying the right talent, and managing the screening process

The webinar will present the state of the AI market in Israel and the changes already taking place within technology companies. Participants will learn how the transition from AI as an auxiliary tool to AI as part of the product core changes the structure of development teams and the division of responsibility between development, product, data, and design.

Among the topics to be presented:

  • The transition to small, strong, and multidisciplinary teams working alongside agents.

  • New capabilities required from development managers: implementing AI tools, leading productivity, building automated processes, and connecting development to business results.

  • Roles for which demand is growing and roles that are changing shape due to AI.

  • How to decide when a company needs a development manager, what profile fits the current stage, and how to check the fit between the manager and the founder.

  • How to build a recruitment process that evaluates thinking, decision-making, technological depth, and the ability to create value, rather than just the quality of the final product.

  • How to plan an interview, a home assignment, and a reference check when candidates use AI tools.

  • How to present the company and attract strong candidates in a market where talent evaluates the quality of management, business stability, professional challenge, and the ability to influence.

The webinar will be led by Shiri Wax, CEO and founder of Gotfriends – one of the largest technology recruitment companies in Israel. Wax has been involved in technology recruitment for over 20 years, accompanying companies and startups in building software, AI, cyber, algorithmic, and hardware teams. The content is based on Gotfriends' ongoing work with more than 1,000 hiring companies and on thousands of interviews and sourcing processes, which allow identifying in real-time what requirements are entering development and management roles and which assessment methods are no longer effective.

Fusion is a Pre-Seed platform that invests in founders from day one and helps them build global companies through capital, a comprehensive accelerator program, and connections in the local and American ecosystem.

The webinar is intended for startup founders, CEOs, CTOs, VPs and development managers, Engineering Managers, and managers who are in the stages of establishing or expanding a technological team. It is especially relevant for companies in the Pre-Seed, Seed, and early growth stages, where every hire has a significant impact on the product, organizational culture, execution pace, and the company's ability to reach its business goals.
